Swanton girls basketball coach resigns after solicitation arrest

Lary Lavigne, 55, resigned as coach the same day he was arrested for solicitation.

Swanton Middle School's seventh grade girls basketball coach has resigned following his arrest during an undercover sex sting at a Bowling Green area hotel.

According to the Wood County Sheriff's Office, Bowling Green police and the FBI arrested 55-year-old Lary LaVigne, along with 17 others, during a vice operation on Nov. 8.

LaVigne submitted his resignation on the same day, but did not list a reason, according to The Blade. He was reportedly a coach for close to 10 years.

LaVigne will appear in court on Dec. 10 for a pretrial hearing.
