Swanton woman dies following pedestrian accident, No charges yet

No charges have been filed against Rebecca Yarberry but could come as early as next week.

A dispatcher at the Toledo post of the Ohio State Highway Patrol confirms a 30-year-old Swanton woman died Friday following a pedestrian accident on Wednesday night.

Up until late Thursday, Haylee Michelle Brandt had been listed in serious condition at Mercy St. Vincent's.

Brandt was transported to hospital via Life Flight after she was found in a yard off North Main Street and Valleywoods Drive on April 9.

Investigators say Brandt was hit, by 20-year-old Rebecca Sue Yarberry, as the 30-year-old walked along the right edge of North Main Street with her dog.

Authorities allege that Yarberry didn't stop after hitting Brandt but did later report "knowledge of the crash" at the Swanton Police Department.

Yarberry has not been charged in the case but officials have "referred" their investigation to the Fulton County prosecutor, according to an OSHP-Toledo dispatcher.
