LPGA Marathon Classic brings thousands of people from all over the world to Northwest Ohio.
Pat Nowak, executive director of the Sylvania Area Chamber of Commerce, said the LPGA Marathon Classic is a great showcase event for Sylvania.
"It's always a great thing to see the ladies come to town; they are amazing golfers and it brings economic stimulus to the area," Mrs. Nowak said.
Shops and restaurants in downtown Sylvania expect a surge in customers during the week of the tournament.
Nate Schrank is the general manager of Treo Restaurant & Bar.
"We definitely get an uptick throughout the week because of the tournament, and we are going to be serving the golfers and caddies on saturday and sunday at Highland Meadows," Mr. Schrank said.
