A standoff in Sylvania Thursday evening ended after several hours and lengthy negotiations.

Sylvania Police responded to a report of an assault of a girl at an apartment in the 4900-block of Wickford Drive East around 5:40 p.m. After arriving at the scene, a suspect barricaded himself inside the apartment.

Negotiators were called to the scene along with members of the Sylvania Township Metro Special Response Team and Sylvania Township Fire. After several hours of negotiations failed, members of the SRT were able to make entry into the apartment and apprehend the suspect, Mario Stansley, without incident.

The female victim was treated at the scene for minor injuries.

Stansley has been booked into the Lucas County Jail on charges of Assault and Intimidation of a Crime Victim or Witness.

No officers were injured.
