Sylvania teen nominated in Taylor Swift contest

A Sylvania Southview High School alumna who went viral on YouTube by asking Scotty McCreery to prom now has the chance to meet another country superstar.

Last April, Brooke Dutridge appeared on WNWO Today to talk about her painful neuro-disorder, Full Body Reflex Neurovascular Dystrophy (RND/RSD). The disease causes severe chronic pain, preventing Brooke from having a normal high school life.

When she wasn't asked to prom by any boys at her school, Brooke hoped to catch the eye of American Idol winner Scotty McCreery and make her senior year unforgettable.

While Scotty was unable to attend due to his tour schedule, he invited Brooke to his concert in Columbus and signed her guitar backstage.

One year later, Brooke's family and friends have nominated her as the "bravest girl they know" in the Keds Brave Soles Contest. The winner will get to meet Taylor Swift at a Keds Shoes photo shoot, tour the set and get a makeover from style experts.

The voting takes place on Keds' Facebook page and the finalists will be selected on June 5. You can vote everyday and share your support on Facebook. To vote for Brooke, click here.
