Sylvania Township will be opening its doors to the public and media to view its newest Fire Station Sunday.
Sylvaniaâ??s Fire Chief, Jeffrey Kowalski, invites all members of the community to join him in its grand opening from 1 p.m. to 4 p.m.
Firefighters assigned to the station at 6633 Monroe Street in downtown Sylvania will see improvements to the facility.
Taxpayers approved the 2008 Levy. Station No. 1 that helped pay for this rennovation.
The upgrade provides a wellness area for firefighters and a new fire engine pumper that was purchased with money from the same levy. The location allows firefighters quick access to points east and west as well as easy access to the expressway and Flower Hospital.
Parking will be available across from the station at both municipal lots. Refreshments will be provided.
