A group of taxpayers in Seneca County have decided not to pursue a battle in court over the destruction of the county's courthouse.

Published reports say an attorney for the group plans to voluntarily dismiss the lawsuit with the Ohio Supreme Court--after the group realized continuing the lawsuit could break the county.

"My clients are interested in the welfare of the people of Seneca County, and we just hope the commissioners will do the right thing in terms of providing adequate court facilities," said the group's attorney, David Carroll.

The group filed the suit last Monday claiming the Seneca County Commissioners have a legal duty to provide an adequate courthouse, after the 1884 courthouse was slated for demolition last month.
