Teen arraigned in Monroe woman's death during police chase

Austin Hall-Sheedy

An 18-year-old southeastern Michigan man has been charged in the death of a woman whose car was struck during a high-speed police chase.

The Monroe Evening News says Austin Hall-Sheedy was arraigned Wednesday in Monroe County District Court on fleeing and eluding causing death and unarmed robbery charges. The robbery charge is not related to Wednesday's accident.

The Monroe man was arrested Tuesday after a pickup truck slammed into Diana Cupp's car as the 59-year-old was leaving a grocery store parking lot.

Police say the pickup was speeding and being driven erratically when it ran a red light and rammed Cupp's car.

Hall-Sheedy was ordered held on bond pending an April 3 hearing. He told the judge he would hire his own lawyer.
