The Seneca County brothers killed in a two car crash Thursday afternoon were on their way home from a summer basketball camp. Don Vogt, the principal of Seneca Junior High and High School, says 17-year-old Phillip Bollinger and 15-year-old Dillon Bollinger were teaching students from the middle school the fundamentals of basketball. "That says a lot about who they are, selfless and caring individuals giving up their time to teach the game of basketball," Principal Vogt said.
According to the Ohio State Highway Patrol the brothers were killed in a two car crash at the intersection of TR 79 and TR 8 in Reed Township. Phillip Bollinger was driving a 2000 Chevrolet Cavalier that ran a stop sign and was struck on the driver side by another car. That driver and his three passengers were not seriously hurt. The Bollinger brothers were pronounced dead at the scene.
Seat belts were in use in both vehicles. Alcohol is not suspected of being a factor in the crash.
