Teen shot in leg IDed as Ottawa-Glandorf football star

An 18-year-old injured in an accidental shooting Monday night has been identified as an Ottawa-Glandorf football player.

According to The Lima News, Tristan Parker, a senior running back for the Titans, was selected as the Western Buckeye League's offensive back of the year and also set school records for yards rushing and touchdowns.

Putnam County sheriff's deputies said Parker was accidentally shot by a friend who was showing him a handgun when it discharged while they were in the back of a pickup truck. The bullet entered Parker's right thigh and exited through his left calf.

He was treated and released from St. Rita's Care Center Monday night. The Putnam County Sheriff's Office is still investigating, but labeled the incident an accidental shooting in a news release.
