      Third Toledo Edison steam plant smokestack leveled

      Crews with B&B Wrecking used strategically-placed explosives to topple the top third of the smokestacks.

      The last remaining smokestack of the former Toledo Edison Power Plant was partially destroyed on Friday morning.

      Crews with B&B Wrecking used strategically-placed explosives to topple the top third of the smokestacks. Per the city of Toledo's request, the bottom 100 feet of the smokestack was left intact so that a new lighthouse can be built.
