Sat, 12 Apr 2014 01:36:35 GMT — The Toledo Area Humane Society (TAHS) says they seized 19 dogs and 6 cats from a Toledo home on Friday. As a result, the shelter is "VERY full right now" and offering a 25% discount on all dog and puppy adoption fees, for a limited time. The deal is available though the weekend, until 5 p.m. on Sunday, on all of the shelter's canines. The animals taken in April 11, mostly yellow Labrador retriever mixes, are not available for adoption. All are being held at the shelter, as a possible cruelty case is investigated, and officials hope the owners will surrender the animals to TAHS. The organization took the dogs and cats from a home in the 2200 block of Portsmouth Avenue after receiving a call from a concerned neighbor. Officials say the animals appear to be in good physical condition but some do have minor injuries. The Toledo Area Humane Society is located at 1920 Indian Wood Circle in Maumee and is open Saturday and Sunday from noon to 5 p.m.
