Northwest Ohio residents were hard at work on Saturday, clearing driveways and sidewalks of the overnight snowfall.
Snow accumulated in the Toledo-area between 5-8 inches by early evening. Residents used snow-blowers, shovels and other tools to dig out their cars and homes.
â??I havenâ??t seen this much snow in a long, long time,â?? said Larry Stawinski, a resident of south Toledo who was out shoveling his driveway. He continued, â??What can you do, you just have to live with it.â??
Snow plows laid rock salt and cleared the roadways, although travel was still slippery and slow. Slick conditions led to several accidents in the area, despite Snow Emergencies being issued in several counties.
Although snowfall had subsided by Saturday evening, WNWO Meteorologist Joe Thompson said wind speeds on Sunday could reach 25 mph and drivers should be cautious of blowing and drifting snow.
