On Monday, the Ohio Department of Transportation (ODOT) District Two announced an update regarding the SR 65 bridge painting project.
Officials said, in a press release on their website, that "the closure of the bridge is necessary to perform painting of the bascule spans in a timely manner."
The closure will not, however, impact the shipping channel during the winter season and should be over before the Anthony Wayne bridge is scheduled to close this spring.
Painting, at the Craig Bridge between Front and Summit Streets, will begin on Monday at 7 a.m. and continue into mid-March.
To avoid the area a detour can be taken using Front Street, Cherry Street and Summit Street.
