The Civil War raging in Syria over the last 11 months has now hit home for Hamzah and Adnan Alshammaa, residents of Toledo.
The pair says their 16-year-old half-brother, Hadi Alshammaa, was kidnapped last week after coming out of a cell phone shop in Syria.
Adnan Alshammaa said his family has been in shock since they received the news. Hadi, afterall, is a U.S. citizen.
Handszam says as Hadi and his friends were walking out of the cell phone shop, several men exited a vehicle and grabbed him.
With Hadiâ??s whereabouts and safety unknown, and his two half-brothers a half a world away, they are pulling out all the stops to get him home safely.
Adnan says his family is trying to get as much public attention to their crisis as they can. They have contacted diplomatic officials, contacted Congresswoman Marcy Kapturâ??s local office and have launched a Facebook page.
