Fri, 28 Sep 2012 04:25:20 GMT — On Thursday, the Toledo-Lucas County Port Authority announced that negotiations with Aviation Advantage, Inc. had ended unsuccessfully. On September 11th, the Port Authority announced they were in the process of introducing a new, seasonal passenger service to Toledo Express Airport. The negotiations would have provided twice weekly seasonal passenger service to and from Toledo Express Airport and Southwest Florida International Airport (RSW) located in Ft. Myers, Florida. According to the Toledo-Lucas County Port Authority, they had accepted the terms of the contract and was ready to sign an agreement. However, in order to make the proposed air service program viable, Aviation Advantage was negotiating with another airport concurrently to take the balance of hours of aircraft time, and those negotiations proved unsuccessful. â??Weâ??re disappointed that we are not able to provide this service to the travelling public here in northwest Ohio,â?? said Paul Toth, President and CEO of the Toledo-Lucas County Port Authority. â??We were 100% prepared to move forward with a route that has proven to be very popular with our travelers in the past. Unfortunately, Aviation Advantage was unable to come to an agreement with the other party involved in the transaction.â??
