Toledo house near shooting catches fire hours later

The Colburn Street house where a man was shot just eight hours ago caught fire early Wednesday.

Fire dispatch confirmed crews were on the way to scene before 6 a.m. and put out the flames within an hour. The residence sustained major damage. Both houses next door were also damaged during the fire.

According to police, a 24-year-old man was shot in front of the residence in South Toledo after a fight broke out in the street on Tuesday night.

The male victim was shot in the area but wasn't at the scene when officers arrived. Authorities believe he was taken to an area hospital in a personal vehicle.

At the time, no suspects or motive have been released by Toledo police. The cause of the fire is under investigation.
