The Salvation Army has announced that attorneys throughout Toledo have donated a record amount for their annual drive.
Attorney William Meyer led and established the 21st annual collection, raising a record amount of $20,260.
â??We are grateful to Mr. Meyer for spearheading this collection and to the attorneys who contributed,â?? said Captain Kevin Zanders, who serves as the Area Coordinator of The Salvation Army in Northwest Ohio along with his wife, Captain Tawny Cowen-Zanders. â??Their support will change lives.â??
Cowen-Zanders added, â??Their kindness and generosity will help to provide for those in need not only at Christmas but throughout the year. Last year, The Salvation Army provided food to 22,708 individuals, 1,786 households were provided with utility assistance, and 438 people were provided overnight lodging. Meeting needs at the point of need at the time of need is only possible through the support of our community.â??
Captains Zanders and Cowen-Zanders are the Area Coordinators for The Salvation Armyâ??s Northwest Ohio Area Services, which includes Lucas, Ottawa, Wood, Fulton, and Henry Counties.
