Toledo-Lucas County Health Department offers vaccinations for minors

The school year is quickly approaching which means back-to-school clothes, supplies and immunizations.

"Shots 4 Tots n Teens" begins Wednesday. This Toledo-Lucas County Health Department program vaccinates children from birth to 18 years old.

The first clinic is at the Western Lucas County Clinic from 1 p.m. until 3:30 p.m. in the afternoon and is available on a first come, first serve basis.

"That's one thing we've really been pushing this year is not to wait until the last minute," Shannon Lands, director of health promotions. "We advise you to call your family practice doctor and find out when you can get your child in for a physical and for those shots that they're going to need in order to start the school year which is approaching quickly."

All insurance plans are accepted. Some patients can even receive free vaccines if they qualify. For future locations and times, visit the Health Department's website.
