Toledo man will spend at least five years behind bars for crashing into two pedestrians, killing one, near the Hollywood Casino Toledo.

Michael Yates, 42, was found guilty in September of aggravated vehicular homicide in the death of Stefanie Arnold, 27, of Painesville.

The east Toledo man was driving east on Miami St., on July 21, 2012, when he struck Arnold and her friend, Chelsea Skoch, 24, of Madison. The women were walking from the Days Inn on Miami St. towards the casino.

Arnold was killed in the crash. Skoch was critically injured.

Yates was also found guilty of vehicular assault for injuring Skoch. He admitted to being under the influence of a higher-than-prescribed dose of prescription painkillers at the time of the crash.
