The candidates running for Toledo mayor laid out their vision for the city as they explains their views on fair housing at a forum on fair housing.
T h e forum is being sponsored by the Toledo Fair Housing center and the University of Toledo College of Law.
O ne of the main issues in regards to fair housing is segregated neighborhoods. A ccording to the fair housing center , information they collected from the 2010 US census shows that the average white person lives in a neighborhood that is 75 % white. The average black person lives in a neighborhood where only 35% of whites live.
The forum will not feature all of the candidates running for mayor.
T he candidates speaking at Thursday nights event include Mayor Mike Bell, City Councilmen D. Michael Collins, and Joe McNamara, Lucas County Auditor Anita Lopez, and Allan Cox.
