Toledo mother on trial for babyâ??s brain injury death

Avery Glynn Bacon, 6 months, died from a head injury after he was allegedly thrown against a hard surface by his mother.

The trial for a Toledo mother charged in the death of her 6-month-old son has been postponed until September.

Toledo police arrested 25-year-old Amanda Bacon last December after her baby, Avery Glynn Bacon, died from a severe head injury. Authorities said Bacon threw the child against a hard surface, resulting in a skull fracture. Bacon took Avery to the hospital, but he died days later from his injuries.

A Lucas County grand jury charged Bacon with aggravated murder and child endangerment for Avery's death.

In court Monday morning, a Lucas County judge approved a motion to reschedule the trial from June 10 to Sept. 9.

Bacon is being held on a $1 million bond at the Lucas County jail.
