The public is invited to attend any of the gas cap testing and replacement events in June, July or August. The Toledo Metropolitan Area Council of Governments (TMACOG) and the City of Toledo Division of Environmental Services cooperate each summer on a gas cap testing and replacement program to reduce auto emissions that can lead to air pollution. An important part of the program is sharing information about what individuals can do to protect air quality.VIEW: The complete schedule is posted.Staff will check the vacuum on gas caps on passenger cars and light trucks. Testing only takes a few minutes and any vehicle with a leaking or missing gas cap will receive a free replacement. Leaking gas caps release volatile organic compounds that contribute to ozone pollution.
