Toledo Symphony Orchestra will perform to the fireworks
TOLEDO, Ohio (WNWO) -- For the first time ever, the Toledo fireworks will be accompanied by a live, personal soundtrack.
The Toledo Symphony Orchestra will be performing at Promenade Park Wednesday night to the firework show.
The Classic Rock Experience will start the crowd off at 6:00 p.m. and the symphony orchestra will take the stage at 9:00 p.m. where they'll perform a number of patriotic tunes. After a brief intermission, they'll resume just after 10:00 p.m. will the fireworks choreographed to the music.
President and CEO of the Toledo Symphony Orchestra, Zak Vassar, said they are all very excited.
"There’s a lot of nostalgia for this patriotic music, there’s something really wonderful about it and spectacular about it so I’m just really excited that we get to put those two ideas together up in the sky and on the stage at the same time," said Vassar.
Those in attendance may notice brief 30 second pauses and there's no need to be concerned. The pauses are designed to allow the firework technicians to install the new line of fireworks to time up perfectly with the performance.
Anyone unable to attend, can listen to the simulcast on 101.5 The River.
