The Toledo teen accused of raping a woman in broad daylight faces a judge Monday.

Anferney Fontenet, 15, is accused of raping an autistic woman back in January. The attack happened on a busy street in West Toledo as cars drove by.

Police say the victim, a 26-year-old woman, was walking to the West Toledo library on Sylvania Ave. when she was attacked. Authorities say Fontenet came up behind the woman and put scissors to her throat. He then took off her pants and proceeded to rape her, according to police.

Fontenet has been formally charged with delinquency in connection with the rape and robbery. He appeared in Lucas County Juvenile Court in early February, when Judge Connie Zemmelman found probable cause to try the teen as an adult. On Monday, a judge is expected to determine if, in fact, he will be tried as an adult.

The teen is a sophomore at Start High School.
