Toledo woman convicted of murder after representing herself in court

Melody Williams

A Toledo woman, who served as her own lawyer, during her murder trial was convicted on Friday.

A Lucas County Common Pleas Court jury found Melody Williams guilty after deliberating for less than 90 minutes.

The 49-year-old woman shot and killed L.C. Lyons, Jr. and then torched his Sylvania Township home to cover-up the July 2011 crime.

She faces life in prison when she's sentenced.
