Feds searching couple's car

A Toledo woman is going to prison for just over three years for plotting with her husband to ship money to a Mideast terrorist group.

Amera Akl admitted in federal court Wednesday that she and her husband Hor Akl knew that up to $1 million would be going to Hezbollah.

The couple pleaded guilty last month to several charges in order to avoid stiffer penalties.

Amera Akl could have received 40 years in the slammer before the deal.

A sentencing date has not been set for her husband.,

Do you think that is a fair punishment for trying to funnel money to a terrorist group? Post your comments below.
