A member of the Ohio legislature is proposing new restrictions for teen drivers. State Rep. Rick Perales of Beavercreek proposes prohibiting teen drivers from transporting teen passengers. His bill would also change the teen driving curfew from midnight to 10 p.m.
Toledo resident Louis Johnson is skeptical of the proposal. "At 16 years of age I can't see it because if people drive they are going to have people in the car whether it is against the law or not," Mr. Johnson said.
State Representative Teresa Fedor gives the legislation little chance of passing. Current Ohio law allows 16-year-old drivers to transport one unrelated passenger of any age.
