Toledo's first community off-leash dog park

Local Officials and members of Toledo Unleashed have been talking about bringing a dog park to the area for some time now and Saturday morning, they got their wish.

A ground breaking ceremony was held at Woodsdale Park in South Toledo for the areaâ??s first â??off-leashâ?? dog park.

The soon-to-be dog park is over four acres large. It will be divided into three off-leash areas including, one area for small dogs, a main large dog area, and an area for special events and K-9 training.

The park is expected to open to members on September 27th.

In order to become a member, dogs must be:

-Spayed or neutered

-Six months of age and older

-Legally licensed

-Up to date on vaccinations or titers (rabies, DHLPP and bordetella) as verified by a veterinarian

Membership is open for the Glass City Dog Park and includes:

-Unlimited access to the Glass City Dog Park in South Toledo

-One key card to enter the Glass City Dog Park gate

-Special invitations to Glass City Dog Park events

-The opportunity for you and your four-legged friends to enjoy our off-leash park
