O nce the weather heats up, anyone hoping to cool off at any one of Toledo's city pools will be out of luck.
Mayor D. Michael Collins and his administration said they plan to keep Toledo's public pools closed this year due to budget cuts.
Funding for the city's pools has decreased over the past few years, along with a shrinking municipal budget.
Six pools and the Savage Park splash pad, all open in the summer of 2013, will remain closed through this summer. The list of pools remaining closed includes: Willys Pool, Roosevelt Pool, Wilson Pool, Jamie Farr Pool, Navarre Pool, and Pickford Pool along with the Savage splash pad.
