TPD: Shooting Likely Gang-Related

Toledo Police are on scene of a reported shooting in the 900 block of Norwood Avenue Monday evening.

Officials said shots were fired near Waite Avenue just before 7 p.m. Police received the call at 6:54 p.m.

Police tell NBC 24 that two men got into an argument and shot at each other. One of the men was struck in the back of the leg.

He was taken to Mercy St. Vincent Medical Center with what appear to be non life-threatening injuries.

The suspect ran away. He is described as a young black male, wearing light blue jeans and a black t-shirt.

Both young men are believed to be around 20 years old.

Police also say the shooting could be gang-related. Detectives did recover one gun at the scene.

According to dispatchers, there was a group of at least six men in the area when the shooting happened.
