TPS proposes new stadiums for Scott, Woodward high schools

Jim Gant, TPS Business Manager, says the administration will ask the Board of Education to approve the $2.2 million plan.

Toledo Public Schools wants to build new football stadiums for Scott and Woodward high schools. Jim Gant, TPS Business Manager, says the administration will ask the Board of Education to approve the $2.2 million plan. "This is one of the committments that was made 13 years ago in the Building for Success initiative and we are excited about finally completing this project," Gant said.

Woodward and Scott football teams play their home games on the road. If the board of education approves the resolution to construct the stadiums the $2.2 million in funding would be split evenly between the schools. Gant anticipates that work would begin in the spring and the stadiums would be ready for use by the start of the 2014-2015 school year.
