BOWLING GREEN, Ohio -- Drivers in Wood County will be under the watchful eye of law enforcement as increased patrols begin Friday.
Wood County Sheriff Mark Wasylyshyn announced Thursday that his office will be conducting increased patrols as part of national "Drive Sober or Get Pulled Over" campaign.
The patrols will begin Friday, August 15 and go through Monday, September 1.
Deputies will be on the lookout for a variety of violations, including driving under the influence, failure to yield, and speeding. All three violations are leading factors in fatal crashes, according to authorities.
"There will be zero tolerance for driving under the influence and seat belt violations," a statement from Wasylyshyn read.
The increased patrols are funded through a grant from the Ohio Traffic Safety Office.
