Trial delayed for store clerk charged with selling alcohol to minor

The Ohio Department of Commerce requested to revoke the Foxx liquor license last year in August.

TOLEDO - The trial for a Toledo store clerk charged with selling alcohol to a minor has been postponed in March.38-year-old Nick Thompson is accused of selling a bottle of vodka to a friend of 18-year-old Brian Hoeflinger. The judge agreed on Tuesday to delay the trial until March 25 because the defense raised issues with some video recordings taken from the Foxx liquor store.Hoeflinger, an Ottawa Hills high school senior, died in a car crash after a night of drinking at a friend's party in February 2013. An autopsy report revealed Hoeflinger had a 0.15 blood alcohol level, several times above the zero tolerance policy for any minor. The Ohio Department of Commerce requested to revoke the sales of alcohol products at the Foxx Liquor Store last year in August in response to the clerk's indictment on charges.
