In anticipation for the opening of the National Museum of the Great Lakes, a childrenâ??s program, "Boo on the Boat," was held Sunday, October 26.
Trick-or-Treaters were able to climb aboard the James M. Schoonmaker freight ship, to explore where they were able to find treats.
"History museums struggle with trying to attract families," Christoper Gillcrist of the Great Lakes Historical Society said. "This is an easy way for us to introduce ourselves to the family market in Toledo. Everyone is always looking for an interesting place to trick-or-treat and what better place than on a 103-year-old boat."
The National Museum of the Great Lakes is set to open in the spring of 2014.
