      Trooper injured in crash

      A state trooper from the Ohio State Highway Patrol was injured in a car crash Saturday morning.

      S tate patrol says Trooper Jacquelyn Layson was injured when her patrol car was hit from the back by a pickup truck.

      T he collision happened on U.S. R oute 23 south of the Monroe Street exit at midnight.

      A uthorities say the trooper was providing traffic control for road construction , when 21-year-old Jacob Armentrout of Temperance lost control of his pickup that was pulling a homemade flatbed trailer. He swerved to avoid stopped traffic, when he struck the patrol car.

      T he trooper was taken to Toledo Hospital with non-life threatening injuries.

      A rmentrout wasn't injured , but was cited for the accident.
