The Ohio State Highway Patrol will conduct sobriety checkpoints in Toledo and Tiffin Friday night in an effort to aggressively combat alcohol-related crashes and deaths.
A checkpoint will be set up along Central Avenue in Toledo from 9 p.m. until midnight. Troopers will be assisted by officials from the Lucas County OVI Task Force and the Ottawa Hills Police Department.
Troopers will also hold a checkpoint in Tiffin along Market Street from 8 p.m. until midnight.
"If you plan to consume alcohol, designate a driver or make other travel arrangements," the OSHP said. "Don't let another life be lost for the senseless and selfish act of getting behind the wheel impaired."
