Two killed in Defiance County crash

DEFIANCE -- Two people are dead following a two-vehicle crash in Defiance County.

The crash happened around 11:a.m. Sunday on State Route 66 north of Banner School Road in Tiffin Township.

The two people killed include Lucas J. Carnahan, 25, of 521 Second Street in Defiance and his passenger, Constance M. Gray, 23, of the same address.

According to the Ohio State Highway Patrol. Carnahan was heading south on SR 66 when he lost control of his 2002 Jeep Wrangler and went left of center. The Jeep was struck broadside by a 2004 Chevy 2500 pickup truck. That truck was driven by Bradley E. Bodenbender, 20, of 116 North Allen Street, Bryan, Ohio. He received only minor injuries and was taken by ambulance to Defiance Regional Hospital.

Both vehicles came to rest off the east side of the road. Mr. Carnahan was not wearing a seat belt at the time of the crash. The other two victims were wearing their safety belts.

The crash remains under investigation by the Defiance Patrol Post.
