Two killed in separate crashes Friday afternoon

Update: Ohio State Highway Patrol says that another person, 56-year-old John L. Clark of Huron, died at the hospital after the accident in Sandusky County. Huron was driving the Dodge Caravan involved in the crash. Two other people were in Clark's vehicle, including 55-year-old Cynthia Clark and 25-year-old Jennifer Clark. Clark's passengers did not suffer any life threatening injuries.

The Ohio State Highway Patrol is investigating a pair of unrelated accidents that both that took the lives of at least one person, Friday afternoon.

The first happened in Lake Township along Woodville Road around 3:00 p.m.

, 81-year-old Evelyn Moore was killed while leaving a driveway on Woodville Road and driving into the path of another vehicle.

The Oregon resident was pronounced dead at the scene, the driver of the other vehicle involved was taken to a local hospital for treatment.

As of Friday evening, a condition for 71-year-old David Baker of Genoa was not available.

Approximately an hour and a half later, another person was killed in a crash a US 6 and County Road 32 in Sandusky County.

Officials say the driver of a Dodge caravan crossed the center line and collided, head on with 49-year-old Carlla A Dixon-Bowers' vehicle.

Dixon-Bowers, a Lima resident, died at the scene.

Reports from the scene indicate that two others were also seriously injured in the accident.

The roadway was shut down in both directions for three hours while police and emergency crews responded.
