Two North Toledo toddlers continue to recover from injuries they sustained in connection with a shooting last night. Police responded to the 700 block of Walnut Street last night on a call of shots fired. The mother of the 1-year-old victim noticed that the child appeared to have a back injury. X-rays taken at Mercy St. V's showed that a fragment of a bullet had lodged next to the child's rib. The other child, a 2-year-old was grazed on her arm. Both children are expected to be okay.
The victim's father, Carnelle Nelson says there is too much shooting going on in Toledo. "My daughter has a bullet in her back and I think she's too young to deserve that," Mr. Nelson said.
