Two witnesses stand by while Monroe man stabbed

Three people are in custody after a stabbing that occured in Frenchtown Township early Sunday morning. At 3:25 a.m., Monroe County Sheriff's Deputies responded to a 911 call for a 23-year-old man who was stabbed and bleeding from a felonious assault.
The victim, from Monroe, was treated at the scene by Medical Personnel and transported to South Shore Hospital for futher treatment. He is currently in the Intensive Care Unit pending further medical procedures.
Through the investigation, deputies learned that the suspect, along with two witnesses, were in a residence on Beechwood Drive. Deputies attempted to make contact with any of the subjects inside numerous times with no one answering. Sheriff Detectives obtained an arrest warrant for the 20-year-old male from Monroe and a search warrant for the residence.
At 10:10 a.m., deputies and detectives took the male suspect, a 19-year-old female and an 18-year-old male into custody. The mother and father of the suspect were also in the residence and at home during the incident.
During a search of the residence, detectives located and seized evidence, including the knife that was used in the assault.
The Woodland Beach man responsible for the incident is currently being held at the Monroe County Jail on assault with intent to do great bodily harm, less than murder. Arraignment will be on Monday in Monroe County District Court.
