Amid a decision to cut $17 million from several colleges this July, the University of Toledo just received more bad news: They're ranked on the list of universities with the worst professors in the country.
According to the Yahoo! Finance article, UT ranks 20th on the list, compiled by the Center for College Affordability and Productivity. The catch? The rankings are based on millions of teacher ratings on RateMyProfessors.com, a website that relies on student submissions, not university standings.
UT President Dr. Lloyd Jacobs will address the ranking at a press conference Thursday afternoon. The school is dealing with a $30 million deficit, and announced millions in spending cuts to be spread among 14 departments on Wednessay. The College of Engineering will take the worst hit at nearly $2 million.
Despite these cuts, the university will not raise tuition for the fall semester.
