One person killed when semi and car collide in Oregon

Oregon police have released new information about Thursday afternoon's fatal accident at the intersection of Wynn Road and Navarre Avenue.

Police now say a 16-year-old Clay High School student was the one killed in the crash.

They say Cody Van Hersett was traveling westbound on Navarre when he drove his pick up truck into a semi that was turning left onto Wynn Road.

The teen was pronounced dead at the scene. The 78-year-old truck driver was not hurt.

Oregon police are on the scene of a fatal accident that has shut down a busy intersection.

A car and semi collided Thursday afternoon at the intersection of Wynn Road and Navarre Avenue. One person was killed.

Wynn Road and Navarre Avenue between the accident site and Pickle Road is closed.
