Ahead of a public meeting on the proposed closure of the USPS's Toledo mail processing facility on South St. Clair Street, the independent government agency has released documents on their plan for streamlining operations.

Earlier this month, the U.S Postal Service announced it would hold a meeting at the Stranahan Theater at 4645 Heatherdowns Boulevard to give postal representatives the chance to explain the reasons behind the proposed closure.

In mid-December, the USPS agreed to a five month delay in shutting down over 250 mail processing centers nationwide and 3,700 local post offices that include five in Toledo until mid-May.

For those that can't attend Thursday's meeting, beginning at 7 p.m., comments on the proposed closure can be sent to: Manager of Consumer and Industry Contact, Northern Ohio District, 2400 Orange Ave., Room 25, Cleveland, OH, 44101-9631.

All comments must be postmarked by January 13th.
