The University of Toledo received a major financial gift from one of its alumni.
Cooper Tire CEO Roy Armes, who graduated with a mechanical engineering from the university in 1975, made a $1 million gift to benefit the engineering leadership institute.
Armes and his wife Marcia, presented the gift Thursday afternoon at UT's Nitschke Technology Commercialization Complex.
"To be able to come back and give back, I think is really gratifying and rewarding. More importantly, to see the students and how they're really appreciating what we were doing not only for the university, but for them personally," explained Cooper Tire CEO Roy Armes.
The financial gift will help provide leadership opportunities for 12 to 15 college sophomores and juniors.
