UT stabbing sends 2 people to hospital

Authorities were called out to McComas Drive around 3 a.m. near Rocket and Stadium Drive.

Toledo Police are investigating a stabbing that took place on the University of Toledo campus early Friday morning.

Authorities were called out to McComas Drive, near Rocket and Stadium Drive, around 3 a.m.

As of 4:15 a.m., officials blocked off the scene near the University of Toledo fraternity and sorority housing at McComas Village.

One car attempted to leave the scene but was pulled over by police a short time later. The driver was taken into custody without incident. However, police would not say if the driver of that vehicle was one of the two men directly involved in the stabbing.

Police say the initial fight involved two groups of people, but was primarily the two men involved.

The two males involved in the stabbing were sent to the hospital with non-life threatening injuries. Officials said a dispute started off campus, but continued onto UT campus. Officials said alcohol was involved.

Officials have not said if the people involved attended the university. Crews have been taking pictures of blood splattered on the pavement.

The incident remains under investigation.
