Sunday, September 22, The University of Toledo??s Department of Music presented a concert in collaboration with the UT Wind Ensemble, Symphony Orchestra and choirs. The concert titled, "Songs of Life, Love and Sorrow," the performances included songs from Gustav Mahler, Franz Josef Haydn, and Johannes Brahms.
"Most of them based on some poetry, most of it having to do with love," Conductor Robert Mirakian said. "They are these lovely little gems of music. None of them are more than two-and-a-half to three minutes long??some as short as 40 seconds."
Upcoming visual and performing arts events at the University of Toledo include UT Jazz Nights, featuring the Jazz faculty group CrossCurrents and Student Combos on Monday, September 23 at 7:30 p.m.
Saturday, September 28 Bands of America Regional Championships will be held inside the Glassbowl Stadium.
Sunday, October 13, at 3 p.m. Dorothy MacKenzie Price Piano Series??Recital will be held in the Recital Hall??Center for Performing Arts.
