Fifteen minutes after WNWO's conversation with Karen Maze aired during the 6 p.m. broadcast on Monday, James Ramirez of Temperance called to say that he had an unused scooter in his garage that he was willing to loan to Ms. Maze. "It's got the charger and the battery, so all it needs is to be re-charged and she should be good to go," Mr. Ramirez said.
On Monday Karen told WNWO that the power scooter that was in her possession for three years had been stolen and that in the interim she had been using a manual wheelchair that was difficult to operate because of a variety of health issues. So when the scooter provided by James Ramirez arrived on Tuesday afternoon she was naturally, very happy. "I told him that this would make it easy for me to get around," Ms Maze said.
