Several community groups are planning a vigil in Cleveland to honor a 19-year-old woman and her one-year-old daughter who were found shot to death in a closed garage of an unoccupied building over the weekend.
Multiple media outlets say anti-violence groups are among those planning a Tuesday evening vigil near the garage for Latasha Jackson and her daughter, Chaniya Wynn.
Police believe Jackson was pushing her daughter in a stroller when her estranged boyfriend kidnapped the pair at gunpoint. Police said that all three were found shot to death later Sunday and that it appeared the man had killed himself.
Authorities described the man, Thomas Lorde, as a violent sexual predator with outstanding felony warrants.
