Volunteers help deliver meals throughout Toledo on Thanksgiving Day
TOLEDO, Oh (WNWO) - Cherry Street Mission Ministries and Mainstreet Ventures' teamed up for another year of giving back to the community on Thanksgiving Day.
Cherry Street Mission Ministries President and CEO Dan Rogers joined NBC 24's Elyse Chengery to talk all about the importance of giving back to the community and bringing everyone together with a great meal for the Thanksgiving holiday.
Mainstreet Ventures President and CEO Michael Gibbons says this is the 7th year in a row that volunteers are coming together to help.
As seen in the above video: Volunteers, cooks and staff gathered at Real Seafood Company on the Docks early Thursday morning to prepare the meals. 1,100 pounds of turkey will be served on Thursday.
Thanksgiving meals will be served to 850 guests of Cherry Street Mission. Volunteers will also deliver hundreds of meals to local families.
